#36 Birthday celebration
So we've enjoyed all the holiday and "wintery" things, but we are definitely happy about spring and the returning light and warmer days. The kids broke out their scooters that they got for Christmas and have been riding them around the driveway (at least the part that isn't covered with ice) and just yesterday the girls and mom went out to play with the jump rope. The night before Easter was comical and tiring at the same time because Alexys and Laci were so excited about looking for eggs that they couldn't sleep. Finally, quite late in the evening when dad and mom thought everyone was finally asleep we let the "Easter bunny" do it's job hiding eggs in the house since it's too cold and snowy to hide them outside. Since mom tends to be a light sleeper, she noticed about 10 minutes after she went to bed that there were little whispering voices in the kitchen area and flashlights whirling around the room outside her door. Mom went to check it out, only to find two little girls looking around for all the hidden eggs. Alexys claims she was just "looking for the Easter bunny". Even after we all got to bed, the girls still woke up at a pretty early hour. Boy, you'd think it was Christmas all over again as excited as they were about finding some pieces of candy! We're glad they have fun with it though.......those are some of the best things about being a kid! Happy spring to everyone!
